Ad.Online is a quick and easy way to repurpose both classified linage and display ads into a searchable database for use on the web.
This is a simple yet effective solution for publishing classifieds online without any staff overheads.
Using only a header file from your front end system, Ad.Online provides a fully searchable classification hierarchy which can be mapped to match your publication. In conjunction with ART, Ad.Online can also repurpose your display adverts.
By simply uploading text and image data to a hosted server, all your ads can be automatically indexed and web-ready within hours.
Users of your website are presented with a group of top level categories, laid out according to your requirements and to match your own classification structure. From here they can either drill down through sub-categories and browse through all ads in a particular section, or they can do a keyword search to return a more specific set of ads.
All display ads that have been processed through the Ad.Online system are scanned, and any text which is extracted is entered into the database and made available for the keyword search facility.
Results of a keyword search can, therefore, appear as both linage and display entries. Linage ads are displayed as text, and display ads are shown in jpeg or PDF format.
In order that there are no issues with large ads taking a long time to download the user is at first shown a thumbnail size jpeg in the results list, which can be clicked to take them to a larger, more reader-friendly jpeg.
Every display ad is also available to view in PDF format, and can be saved or printed by the user if they wish to do so.
The cost of the Ad.Online service is based upon a yearly subscription fee. This ASP (application service provider) model means reduced cost of ownership for you, the customer. Giving you the opportunity to try out new features on your website without having to invest in new technology or additional staff.
Meanwhile you will automatically benefit from any software enhancements, as this is a server-based product which removes the need for software installations or upgrades.
To see Ad.Online in action please visit any of the following sites who currently
use it to repurpose all their linage and display ads. Oldham Evening Chronicle, South
Wales Argus, Express
and Star, and Shropshire
Star.
