Self Service

Revolutionary new customer self service web portal

Working in partnership with one of the UK's biggest Publisher's on a project to reduce invoice, statement printing & postage costs, Press Computer Systems have developed a new and exciting customer facing web site 'Self Service'. Self Service enables both trade and private customers to login securely via the internet, view their completed adverts, account and transaction details, view, download or print a statement or copy invoice, make a secure payment using an online e-banking vendor service ensuring prompt payment.

Additionally Self Service provides the means to directly email invoices, statements & reminders to customers, as a PDF document, rather than physically print and post them to attract prompt payment as well as reducing costs.

Available 24 X 7 Self Service firstly improves the 'customer experience' when reviewing and paying for advertising and secondly reduces rising costs associated with producing and supplying account documents. Ultimately, the workload of the newspaper's credit control departments will also be lightened. Now is the ideal time to leverage the cultural migration to the internet and take advantage of the benefits that Self Service offers both the newspaper and its customers.

Secure customer access is maintained via their account number, email address and either an associated URN (for casual customers) or invoice reference, for maximum security purposes. Subsequent access is via entry of email address and password, making multiple logins for corporate / agency customers possible.

The powerful 'My account' view shows the customer a breakdown of account transactions over a date range of their choosing, with the option to hide those invoices that have already been settled. Colour coded transaction statii allow overdue invoices to be readily identified.

Customer's can raise a query straight from the web site. This will then be available for scrutiny and managed by the publisher, automatically transferring it to the Query Suite then available to Sales ledger for formal processing by the credit control team.

Customisation to choose how customers want to receive their documents in future, without the intervention of the accounts team is available. As well as for customers to pay outstanding invoices from the My Account 'screen.' via secure online e-banking vendor service.

The 'My Adverts' view shows a tiled display of adverts as JPEG thumbnails. Selecting a thumbnail displays the advert as a full PDF. The option to view the associated invoice(s) is also provided.

A comprehensive audit of all customer payments and requests for copy documents is maintained and available for the accounts team to manage.
